Drive from Johannesburg via Dullstroom and Lydenburg to Graskop. View the highlights of the Panorama Route including God's Window, the Blyde River Canyon and the 3 Rondavels. At our overnight stop in a private game reserve; look out for some of the many birds and game species including giraffe, jackal and a number of antelope species. Dine in an open boma (weather dependent) and then enjoy a nightcap listening to the sounds of the African night.
We start the day with an early morning 'Bush Walk'. Our guide will identify animal spoor and share other fascinating secrets of the bush before returning to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast we a visit a wildlife rehabilitation centre where orphaned or injured animals and birds are looked after before being released back into the wild if their chances of survival on their own are good. After the rehab center we leave the private game reserve to explore the game-rich central Kruger National Park. Renowned for large herds of giraffe, zebra and antelope, the open plains around Satara boast the highest concentration of lion in Africa and afford possibly the best game viewing in the entire Kruger Park. The night is spent at Satara or one of the other camps in the central Kruger National Park area
We have the full day in the Kruger Park with as much or little driving around to suit you, during the hours when the camp gates are open. Optional extras include an early morning walk with an armed ranger, or an open vehicle drive in the morning, afternoon or evening/night drive.
Again, we have an early morning game drive with a brunch at one of the camps or picnic spots. This is followed by a midday siesta back at camp. A last afternoon game drive gives us another chance to see some of the rarer species of game that inhabit the park. Savour an unforgettable 'Bush Barbeque' in unspoilt Africa or dinner in the restaurant.
Today, we leave the Kruger and travel via the tropical fertile valleys of Tzaneen towards the spectacular scenery and tea plantations of Magoebaskloof. We drive via Pietersburg and Pretoria to arrive in Johannesburg around 17h30. Airport drop-offs by arrangement.
Macit Tours will confirm the exact pick-up time the evening before departure. They will pick clients up from, and drop off at any location in Greater Johannesburg.
